Philadelphia City Council adopted a resolution designating October 6–13, 2003, as “Christopher Columbus Week.” The designation recognized the annual Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival organized by the Philadelphia Columbus Day Committee and commemorated Columbus’s historic voyage.
