The adopted resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Property to transfer conditional ownership of certain City-owned vacant properties to the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority at no cost.
Authorizing the Commissioner of Public Property to execute and deliver to the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia, without consideration, deeds conveying conditional fee simple title to certain City-owned lots or pieces of ground with the buildings and improvements thereon, situate in the Thirty-eighth and Nineteenth Wards of the City of Philadelphia, pursuant to Chapter 16-400 of The Philadelphia Code and authorizing the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia to dispose of such properties for rehabilitation and/or improvement in accordance with the terms of Chapter 16-400 of The Philadelphia Code.

Philadelphia City Council adopted a resolution calling on Albertson’s, which owns Acme Markets, to settle the more than 100-day lockout of United Food and Commercial Workers members in Southern California while preserving their health benefits.
Calling upon Albertson's, the owner of Acme Markets, to settle the more than 100 day old lockout of its workers in Southern California in a way that maintains their hard-won health benefits, and further urging Albertson's, and its CEO Larry Johnston, to not try these benefit-destroying tactics in Philadelphia.

This lapsed bill would have limited permitted vending locations on both sides of Twelfth Street between Arch Street and Chestnut Street to vendors licensed to sell prepared food.
Amending the Ordinance approved January 3, 1992 (Bill No. 1205-AA), which, pursuant to subsection 9-204(8)(a) of The Philadelphia Code, designates the locations in Center City at which vending is permitted, by providing that all permitted vendor locations on both sides of Twelfth Street between Arch Street and Chestnut Street shall be assigned only to vendors licensed to sell prepared food, all under certain terms and conditions.
