Authorizing Council's Committee on Public Health and Human Services to hold hearings to address the alarmingly high rate of HIV cases projected by the Centers for Disease Control at a time when preventative measures are well developed but not accessed by the most vulnerable populations, particularly in the African-American community.

This lapsed resolution would have authorized Council’s Committee on Finance to hold an investigatory public hearing about how reverse mortgage loans affect Philadelphia residents, especially senior homeowners.
Authorizing a full and comprehensive investigatory public hearing by Council's Committee on Finance on the impact reverse mortgage lending products are having on residents in the City of Philadelphia. Specifically, the public hearings will seek to determine the extent and impact such lending products have on the City's senior citizen homeowners, and the potential intergovernmental remedies that can be developed to protect consumers from any unintentional harms that may result from acquiring this type of lending product.

The enacted ordinance requires landlords of multi-family buildings with three or more residential units to provide tenants and prospective tenants with a written smoking policy when entering into or renewing a lease.
Amending Chapter 9-800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Landlord and Tenant - Rent Control," by requiring that tenants of certain multi-family buildings be provided with a written disclosure of the building policy on smoking in individual dwelling units, under certain terms and conditions.
