This lapsed resolution would have started the process to create the Philadelphia Hospitality Improvement Levy District, a proposed business improvement district covering certain taxable hotels in Philadelphia.
Initiating action to establish a business improvement district encompassing certain taxable (for real estate tax purposes) hotels within the boundaries of the City and County of Philadelphia, to be known as the Philadelphia Hospitality Improvement Levy District, designating the Philadelphia Hospitality Improvement Levy District Corporation to serve as Neighborhood Improvement District Management Association (the "NIDMA") under the Community and Economic Improvement Act; and authorizing and directing the Committee on Rules and the Clerk of Council to take all actions that are required by the Community and Economic Improvement Act, as amended, prior to adoption of an ordinance that would formally establish the Philadelphia Hospitality Improvement Levy District.

This enacted measure amended Philadelphia’s Hero Awards program to increase the potential award for the surviving spouse or life partner, dependent children, or dependent parents of a firefighter, police officer, or prosecution detective killed while performing a heroic deed involving a special hazard or risk.
Amending Section 21-105 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Hero Awards," by increasing the amount that may be awarded to family members of firefighters, police officers, and prosecution detectives killed in the course of performing heroic deeds, and by making certain technical changes; all under certain terms and conditions.

This enacted ordinance authorizes the Philadelphia Department of Streets to add a bicycle lane in each direction on American Street between Jefferson Street and Lehigh Avenue.
Amending Section 12-701 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled "Bicycle Lanes," by authorizing the Department of Streets to designate bicycle lanes, in both directions, on American Street from Jefferson Street to Lehigh Avenue and for the removal of a travel lane on American Street, in the same limits, all under certain terms and conditions.
