Full Bill

WHEREAS, Even though Will Smith is a superstar known by people all over the world, he is especially beloved by Philadelphians, who have always rightly claimed him as their own; and

WHEREAS, Will Smith is a recording artist, movie star, movie producer, music maven and more recently, developer. He would remind us of many other stars except for the degree of esteem in which he is held, the respect he commands and the affection folks have for him. In this town, he is a role model, a poster boy for generosity and a brother to blacks and whites all over the city; and

WHEREAS, It came as no surprise, then, that when Mr. Smith was here shooting scenes for his new movie, he came to the aid of a family whose house needed so much work that is was just this side of safe. Will Smith, seeing the house's condition during his travels around the City, made sure his wife and close friend Charlie Mack agreed, and then had all necessary repairs made to the house; and

WHEREAS, We hear that wherever Will Smith goes, he is loved, and that in city after city, he finds a way to help. In this city, however, he has totally won the hearts of all the citizens, for he has let us know his heart is here, that his soul is filled with affection for us, that he will never forget the myriad of traditions which are the foundation of his character; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend Mr. Will Smith. We are proud of him, and his presence adds luster to our city. We thank him for his many good works.

RESOLVED, That an engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Will Smith as evidence of the sincere respect and deep admiration of this legislative body.
