WHEREAS

Bishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams is the Presiding Bishop and the general overseer of the Christian Action Faith Ministries Worldwide with more than forty-five branches and affiliate Churches located within Africa, North America and Europe; and

WHEREAS

,

Bishop Williams is anointed in the ministry of prayer, healing and the prophetic, with over 20 years in ministry, Bishop Williams has intense passion for intercessory prayer and spiritual warfare which is born out of his own personal experience; and

WHEREAS

,

Bishop Williams’ powerful impact on internal policy through prophetic and divine instructions to African leaders has profoundly impacted nations like Ghana to declare a day of prayer and Nigeria to elect a Christian leader for the first time in the history of that nation; and

WHEREAS, Bishop Williams is the author of numerous books including “The Price of Greatness” and “Binding the Strong Man” and Founder and President of Prayer Summit International. The mission statement is to “root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant” for the purpose of advancing the kingdom of God through strategic and passionate prayers of intercession; and

WHEREAS

,

Prayer Summit International 2000, to be held May 26-27, 2000 at the Marriott Hotel in Center City, Philadelphia, seeks to do this by helping Christians to learn and enjoy praying without undue struggles and realize that there is no substitute for prayer; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor Bishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams and commend his work with Prayer Summit International and dedication to assisting his Fellow Man in gaining a better understanding of the need for God’s intervention in the affairs of humankind;

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Bishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams as evidence of the respect and sincere regard of this legislative body and in recognition of his continued commitment to uplifting the human spirit and responding to its multiplicity of needs.
