Honoring the West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce upon celebrating its 60th Anniversary.

WHEREAS, The West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce is a 59 year old membership association organization dedicated to stimulating economic development in West Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, The West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce provides entrepreneurs with networking opportunities, business resources, technical assistance, workshops and seminars tailored to assist members in growing their businesses and creating jobs in West Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, The 60th Anniversary has been taglined

“A Reflection of Diversity”

because West Philadelphia represents the largest population of people of diverse and ethnic backgrounds within the entire City of Philadelphia. This spirit of diversity is shown throughout our business community and neighborhoods; and

WHEREAS, The 60th Anniversary,

“A Reflection of Diversity,”

will celebrate the West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce's service to the community and salute the businesses that have contributed to economic and neighborhood development and free enterprise within our urban and business community; and

WHEREAS, There are three exceptional organizations in particular that have served the community faithfully as a role model for more than 60 years, and they are:

Berean Federal Savings Bank, Monarch Hardware Company,

and

Paul Bros.;

now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby honors the West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce upon celebrating its 60th Anniversary.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the West Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce as evidence of the sincere gratitude for the services that it provides to the citizens and businesses of Philadelphia.
