Full Bill

WHEREAS, Joe McCourt is an outstanding football, baseball and basketball player at Roman Catholic High School; and

WHEREAS, Joe McCourt rushed for 1,780 yards at Roman Catholic this year; and

WHEREAS, Joe McCourt also starred on defense and as a kicker at Roman Catholic; and

WHEREAS, McCourt also maintains a 3.9 grade point average at Roman Catholic; and

WHEREAS, McCourt will take his ample athletic and academic skills to Lafayette College; and

WHEREAS, Because of his athletic and academic abilities, Joe McCourt was honored on Tuesday, February 20, 2001 by the Maxwell Football Club as its top football student athlete in the area; and

WHEREAS, Joe McCourt was honored in the company of Andy Reid, Rich Gannon, Don Shula, Tubby Raymond and Drew Brees; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY PHILADELPHIA, That we honor Joe McCourt for his outstanding achievement as a student and athlete at Roman Catholic High School; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That this Council considers Joe McCourt as a positive example of the abilities of our City's youth; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Joe McCourt as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
