Full Bill

WHEREAS, The North Catholic High School Falcons Wrestling Team entered the postseason in a three way tie for first place in the Catholic League with St. Joseph's Prep and LaSalle; and

WHEREAS, After defeating Conwell-Egan, North started a rigorous training program to aid in the finals; and

WHEREAS, the Falcons won three of the first four matches during the championship match in the 112, 119 and 125

pound categories;

WHEREAS, Co-captain Ted Murphy locked up the Falcons title with a victory in the 189 pound match earning his 100th victory; and

WHEREAS, Co-captain Ed Alvarez finished his career at North Catholic with 111 victories and a rank of second in Southeastern Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, The title is the third Catholic League title for North Catholic in four years; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA That we honor the North Catholic Falcons on their achievement as Catholic League Champions; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That we recognize the hard work and effort of all of the wrestlers and Coach Jim Savage on their achievement; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the North Catholic Falcons Wrestling Team as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
