Full Bill

WHEREAS, The William J. Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board has selected Arthur Holst as the recipient of the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award; and

WHEREAS, The Fulbright Scholarship serves as America's flagship program in the area of international educational exchange and is granted based on academic merit and professional promise; and

WHEREAS, Arthur Holst, Government Relations Manager of the Philadelphia Water Department has been selected as a Fulbright Scholar and will lecture on urban politics, management and public administration at the Ukraine's Kharkiv National University and Academy of Municipal Economy this Fall; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Holst will export to the Ukraine the talents this Council has already witnessed in his position with the Water Department and this Council, as well as the academic talents he exhibited at Central High School and at Temple University; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor Arthur Holst on his achievement as a Fulbright Scholar; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That we wish him well in the Ukraine and note that he will be missed during his absence; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Arthur Holst as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
