Full Bill

WHEREAS, Bob Pantano has provided 25

years of the best oldies and the hottest dance music as the host of the Oldies 98 WOGL-FM Saturday Night Dance Party; and

WHEREAS, Bob Pantano, a South Philadelphia native and the man who pioneered the live radio dance party in Philadelphia, started spinning at the record hops in the late 1960's, and then the nightclubs in the 1970's, and took the show to the airwaves in 1977; and

WHEREAS, Through the past three decades, hundreds of thousands of Delaware Valley residents remember dancing, meeting, and even falling in love to that special mix that the Saturday Night Dance Party is so well known for; and

WHEREAS, With Bob Pantano as the host, the Saturday Night Dance Party has consistently topped the ratings while providing quality entertainment in an inviting atmosphere for many celebrities and area residents to get together to party the night away every Saturday night; and

WHEREAS, Because Bob Pantano shows no signs of slowing down, the Saturday Night Dance Party will undoubtedly continue to be a cherished Philadelphia area tradition providing partiers with safe, clean, and enjoyable entertainment for many years to come; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes Oldies 98 WOGL-FM, DJ Bob Pantano for his 25

years as host of the Saturday Night Dance Party.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Oldies 98 WOGL-FM DJ Bob Pantano as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
