WHEREAS, The Sears American Dream Campaign was created in 2002 to assist low and moderate income families purchase and maintain their own homes; and
WHEREAS, The Sears American Dream Campaign has partnered with "NeighborWorks," a national network of community development organizations dedicated to helping people purchase, improve and maintain their homes; and
WHEREAS, The Sears American Dream Campaign experts will be performing home assessments, free of charge, in the 1200 block of North 58th Street during the week of May 12th to call attention to the fact that home maintenance, repair and preservation is a fundamental component to ensuring continued success as a homeowner; and
WHEREAS, In addition to the free home assessments, the Sears American Dream Campaign will be providing a $1000 voucher for each participating property owner which can be used toward the purchase of Sears products or services; now therefore
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the 1200 block of North 58th Street shall also be known temporarily as "Sears Way" from May 12, 2003 to May 17, 2003.
