THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Title 13 of The Philadelphia Code is amended to read as follows:

TITLE 13. WATER AND SEWER.

CHAPTER 13-400. SEWERS.

* * *

§13-407. Pipes Connecting Properties To City Sewers.

(1) A property owner shall maintain in good repair at his or her own expense the pipe(s) connecting his or her property to the City's sewer(s) from the owner's building to the curb line or to, but not including, the trap, whichever is nearer to the building, but is not required to maintain the section of the pipe(s) from the trap or curb line (whichever is nearer to the building) to the sewer, which shall be the responsibility of the City.

CHAPTER 13-500. PROVISIONS GOVERNING USE OF WATER.

§13-502. Service Pipe, Valves, and Stop-Cocks.

(2) Every person having a connection to the City's water supply system [of 2 inches or less] shall maintain in good repair at his own expense [a]

but shall not be required to maintain the service pipe from the City's main to the curb line, which shall be the responsibility of the City.
