Honoring Kenneth G. Lawrence, Chairman, PECO Energy Company.

WHEREAS, Mr. Lawrence began his career at what was then the Philadelphia Electric Company in 1969, and in these thirty-four years he has held seventeen positions, each of increasing importance and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, He brought to his career a wide range of academic experience, and from his initial assignments in the finance division, he rose through the ranks quickly, earning the respect of his superiors and the confidence of his colleagues. He became vice president of several operations before being named chief financial officer; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lawrence was president of PECO Energy and chief of Exelon Energy Delivery. In this capacity he was able to increase his ongoing commitment to improving the quality of life in this region as well as across the State of Pennsylvania. He has worked with unusual energy and dedication, and has been a true corporate citizen as well; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Lawrence has been a Board Member of the Chamber of Commerce, and chaired its Council for Excellence. He was also Chairman of the Energy Association of Pennsylvania and a Board Member of the Greater Philadelphia Economic Coalition, in addition to a number of civic, charitable and cultural organizations, all of which benefited from his experience and wisdom; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend Kenneth G. Lawrence. We wish him a retirement filled with joy and fulfillment, and we express to him our very best wishes.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Kenneth G. Lawrence as evidence of the respect and deep admiration of this legislative body.
