Full Bill

WHEREAS, Mr. Joseph D. Petrone, Sr., retiring after a full and productive quarter of a century of service to this city and its citizens, is currently the Director of Real Estate Operations for the Department of Public Property; and

WHEREAS, In his Department, as in all of his assignments prior to this, he has earned the respect of his superiors and the confidence of his colleagues. He has worked with skill and intelligence, and is held in high esteem throughout City government; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Petrone brought with him to municipal service a proud academic history and four years of distinguished service to his country in the United States Air Force, from which he earned an honorable discharge in 1965; and

WHEREAS, In addition to his enormous responsibilities in the Philadelphia Housing Development Corporation, and then in the Department of Public Property, Joe has still found time for an amazingly wide variety of volunteer work, for the Boy Scouts of America to the Sons of Italy, Roxborough Chapter, to the National Rifle Association, the American Legion and the Roxborough Men's Choir. These and his other affiliations will surely benefit from his retirement, but we in the City will miss him, for he has contributed to this government, and therefore to the citizens of Philadelphia; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend Mr. Joseph D. Petrone, Sr.

RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Mr. Joseph D. Petrone, Sr. as evidence of the gratitude, sincere admiration and very best wishes of this legislative body.
