Full Bill

WHEREAS, James J. Cuorato began his career in 1980 as a Project Manager for the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation, and in these twenty-nine years he has held four positions, each of increasing importance and responsibility; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cuorato brought to his career a zest for improving the economic vitality of the city he loves, earning the respect of his superiors and the confidence of his colleagues. He became executive vice president of the Penn's Landing Corporation in 1994 before being named City Representative and Director of Commerce in 2000; and

WHEREAS, In his capacity as Director of Commerce, Mr. Cuorato was able to improve the quality of life in the City of Philadelphia as well as across the State of Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cuorato has received numerous awards for his dedication to community service including the Community Service Award presented by the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation in 1994, the Community Service Award presented by the Waterfront Business Association in 1994, the Partnership Award presented by Mount Airy USA Community Development Corporation in 2000, the Outstanding Alumnus Award from Drexel University in 2002 and he was inducted into the Father Judge High School Hall of Fame in 2002; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend James J. Cuorato. We wish him much success in his future endeavors, and we express to him our very best wishes.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this Resolution be presented to Mr. Cuorato as evidence of the respect and deep admiration of this legislative body.
