Full Bill

WHEREAS, Delimar Vera, previously believed to be killed by fire in 1997, was discovered alive and healthy by her mother, Luz Cuevas, at a birthday party; and

WHEREAS, The attention and hard work of members of the Philadelphia Police Department and the Pennsylvania State Legislature helped Luz Cuevas take the necessary steps to prove she is the mother of Delimar Vera; and

WHEREAS, DNA test results showed that Luz Cuevas is the biological mother of Delimar Vera; and

WHEREAS, The return of Delimar Vera to her biological mother, Luz Cuevas, marked the end of a 6-year separation; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we honor the individuals who facilitated the reunion of Delimar Vera and her biological mother, Luz Cuevas; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Captain John Darby, Lieutenant Michael Boyle, Detective Dave Thomas, Detective Manual Gonzalez and State Representative Angel Cruz (D-l80th District) as evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
