Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased and proud to join the friends and colleagues of Mr. A. Bruce Crawley in tribute to him for his many years of service as a member of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau (PCVB); and

WHEREAS, He was elected as chairman of the PCVB on November 24, 1999, providing leadership during difficult times for the hospitality industry following the events of September 11th

,

and has served as an active member of the board since 1986, during which time he co-founded the Multicultural Affairs Congress; and

WHEREAS, He is president and principal owner of Crawley Haskins & Rodgers, a Philadelphia-based public relations and advertising agency currently ranked as one of the 20 largest African-American owned advertising agencies in America; and

WHEREAS, He is the founder and chairman for the board of the African-American Chamber of Commerce in Philadelphia and has served on many other prominent boards such as the Urban League of Philadelphia, the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, Independence Blue Cross, the Philadelphia High School Academies, Inc. the Salvation Army and the Art Sanctuary; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend A. Bruce Crawley for his many years of dedicated service to the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau; and

FURTHER,RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to A. Bruce Crawley as a symbol of this legislative body's gratitude for the role he has played in helping to improve the tourism and hospitality industry in the City of Philadelphia.
