Full Bill

WHEREAS, Don Tollefson, or Tollie as he is affectionately known, has worked tirelessly with countless community and charity organizations to improve the quality of life for so many people; and

WHEREAS, The Winning Ways Education, started by Don Tollefson in 1989, has been responsible for designing and implementing stay-in-school, anti-drug and anti-violence programs in over, 1000 schools in 12 states; and

WHEREAS, Don Tollefson has been a board member, fundraiser and program volunteer for the Police Athletic League for over twenty-five years; and

WHEREAS, Don Tollefson's fund raising efforts for such groups as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Hero Scholarship Fund, National Adoption Center and Children's Miracle Network are unmatched; and

WHEREAS, Don Tollefson's latest and most passionate program, Together for America, has focused on the advancement of racial and ethnic respect in schools and communities for the past two years; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That this resolution hereby honors, commends, and thanks Don Tollefson for his dedication and commitment to the City of Philadelphia; and

FURTHER RESOLVED, That Engrossed copies of this resolution be prepared to Don Tollefson as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
