Full Bill

WHEREAS, Citizens Acting Together Can Help, Incorporated (“CATCH”) was founded in 1979 to provide community-based mental health treatment to individuals with developmental disabilities. CATCH is now a full-service, accredited Mental Health/Mental Retardation Center that has been an anchor in its South Philadelphia community; and

WHEREAS, CATCH continues to earn a reputation for providing quality mental health services through their community-based mental health and dual diagnosis treatment programs. CATCH’s approach includes therapeutic interventions and daily living skills training; individuals with mental illnesses and drug and alcohol addictions learn to manage the symptoms of their illness and to improve their every day functioning; and

WHEREAS, CATCH has been extraordinarily successful in realizing its mission of providing seamless mental health care to individuals with disabilities and encouraging people on their path to independence. Those served by CATCH, Inc. include a wide spectrum of citizens; individuals making transitions from restricted institutional environments, young children making a difficult adjustment to school, and the elderly with their unique needs; and

WHEREAS, CATCH is recognized for its innovative approach in the delivery of services in a community setting and the agency’s success is rooted in the staff’s ability to provide a supportive environment for their clients and their families. CATCH’s personalized service, in combination with its pioneering spirit, has benefited thousands of people and has become a model emulated by similar organizations nationwide; now therefore

Resolved, by the Council of the City of Philadelphia, That we hereby congratulate Citizens Acting Together Can Help, Incorporated on the occasion of its Twenty-Fifth Anniversary.

Further Resolved, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Raymond A. Pescatore, Chief Executive Officer, and Edward C. Mintzer, Chairman of the Board of Directors, as an expression of the sincere gratitude and admiration of this legislative body.
