Full Bill

WHEREAS, On November 30, 1875, Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children opened its doors; and

WHEREAS, Saint Christopher's Hospital began as a charitable one-room clinic, mainly for children of mill workers in North Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, Today Saint Christopher's serves the entire region as one of the leading pediatric medical centers in the United States; and

WHEREAS, Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children has built a reputation for leadership, innovation and compassion; and

WHEREAS, The Hospital also has established set standards of excellence for other pediatric facilities in the country to follow; and

WHEREAS, November 30, 2005, will be recognized as Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children Day; and

WHEREAS, Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children will continue their 130 year-old tradition of providing specialized pediatric care for children both living in the Delaware Valley and those around the world; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor and commend Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children on the occasion of its' 130th

Anniversary and declare November 30,

2005 as Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children Day.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to representatives of Saint Christopher's Hospital for Children as further evidence of the sincere respect and admiration of this legislative body.
