Full Bill

Whereas, Council, through Resolution No. 050871 (adopted October 20, 2005), has authorized the Committee on Housing, Neighborhood Development, and the Homeless to conduct hearings on the Administration's proposed reorganization of the City's housing agencies; and

WHEREAS, Council now wishes to empower that Committee, through its Chair, to issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents at such hearings; now, therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,

That the Chair of the Committee on Housing, Neighborhood Development, and the Homeless is authorized to issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnesses and the production of documents, to the full extent authorized under Section 2-401 of the Home Rule Charter, in connection with any hearings on the Administration's proposed reorganization of housing agencies that the Committee conducts pursuant to Resolution No. 050871 (adopted October 20, 2005).
