THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Chapter 12-1201 of The Philadelphia Code, relating to the “Authority to Install Traffic-Control Devices”, is hereby amended to read as follows:

Title 12. Traffic Code

CHAPTER 12-1201. AUTHORITY TO INSTALL TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES

Section 12-1201. Authority to Install Traffic-Control Devices

(1) The Department shall place and maintain all necessary traffic-control signs, signals, devices, and markings,

including, pedestrian countdown timers. For purposes of this section, pedestrian countdown timers are devices with a display that shows the countdown of the remaining crossing time.

SECTION2. This Ordinance shall take effect immediately.
