WHEREAS, The Office of Housing and Community Development plans to submit an application for $3,651,500 in funding under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), 2007 Grant Cycle, from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR); and
WHEREAS, The purpose of this application is to secure DCNR funding to match City and anticipated federal funds for the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Land Acquisition, which acquisition activities will occur primarily in the Bridesburg neighborhood, immediately north of the Betsy Ross Bridge; and
WHEREAS, The application package includes a document entitled "Terms and Conditions of Grant" and a document entitled "Signature Page for Grant Application and Grant Agreement"; and
WHEREAS, The City understand that the contents of the document entitled "Terms and Conditions of Grant," including appendices referred to therein, will become the terms and conditions of a Grant Agreement between the City and the DCNR, if the City is awarded a grant; and
WHEREAS, The City understands that by signing the "Signature Page for Grant Application and Grant Agreement"; and submitting it to DCNR as a part of the application, the City agrees to the terms and conditions of the and will be bound by the Grant Agreement, if the City is awarded a grant; now therefore
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA:
That the Secretary of Housing or his designee is hereby authorized to submit an application for $3,651,500 in funding under the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2), 2007 Grant Cycle, from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to secure funding for the North Delaware Riverfront Greenway Land Acquisition and to take any and all actions necessary to complete the application and to execute a contract to obtain such funding.
