THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Title 13 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE 13. WATER AND SEWER.

CHAPTER 13-900. TERMINATION OF WATER AND SEWER SERVICE.

§ 13-901. Termination Restrictions. The Water Department shall not itself, nor by contract, terminate the water and sewer service of any customer, on a weekend or legal holiday, for non-payment of any bill. This Section is not intended to apply where the termination of such service is necessary in emergency situations.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately after enactment.
