Full Bill

WHEREAS, Surveillance cameras have been shown to reduce the prevalence of violence in areas of the City; and

WHEREAS, The safety of persons who use these facilities is paramount; and

WHEREAS, The safety and welfare of Philadelphia's citizens is vital to this Body; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council hereby calls upon the Department of Recreation to install surveillance cameras in all Class A and Class B Recreational Facilities as a means to further enhance the safety of all persons utilizing these facilities; and as a means to fight crime and violence in these facilities.
