Full Bill

WHEREAS, Surveillance cameras have been shown to reduce the prevalence of violence in areas of the City; and

WHEREAS, The safety of persons who use these facilities is paramount; and

WHEREAS, The safety and welfare of Philadelphia's citizens is vital to this Body; now, therefore

THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Title 15 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended to read as follows:

TITLE 15. PARKS AND RECREATION.

CHAPTER 15-600. RECREATION CENTERS.

§ 15-602. Surveillance Cameras in Class A and Class B Recreational Facilities.

The Recreation Department shall install surveillance cameras in all Class A and Class B Recreational Facilities to further enhance the safety of all persons utilizing such facilities.

SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately.
