THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1. Chapter 10-800 of The Philadelphia Code, entitled “Safety,” is amended to add a new Section 10-834 to read as follows:

§10-834. Sale or Transfer of Ammunition.

Any person that sells ammunition for a firearm, pistol, revolver, rifle or shotgun shall make a report to the City of Philadelphia Police Department of all of the following within seven (7) days of each such sale:

(a) Description of the purchase, including type and quantity.

(b) Name and address of purchaser.

(c) Date of purchase.

The City of Philadelphia Police Department shall establish and maintain a registry of reports received under this Section.
