Honoring Robin Mackintosh on his retirement from CBS 3.

WHEREAS, Veteran Eyewitness News Reporter Robin Mackintosh joined CBS 3 in September, 1970, following three years as a news writer for sister station KYW Newsradio; and

WHEREAS, Among his many achievements, Mackintosh has held interviews with such international figures such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis at 30th Street Station, Princess Grace and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. Reporting in 1973, he accompanied John Cardinal Krol to Ireland and produced

"To Ireland with Love,"

a feature report on the violence there; and

WHEREAS, His reporting has brought him recognition many times in his career, including a Philadelphia Emmy Award in 1986 for feature reporting; a Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association Award for spot news and, in 1983, a special honor presented by President Reagan at the White House for a series on volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, His journalism career began at the Philadelphia Evening Bulletin, where he worked as copy supervisor in the editorial department from 1964 to 1968. Following that, he moved to the Virgin Islands in 1969 to work for the Virgin Island Daily News as a reporter; and

WHEREAS, His first assignment for CBS 3 news was covering the floods in Wilkes-Barre and in December 2006, Mackintosh became the longest serving street reporter in Philadelphia local news television, which he currently still holds; and

WHEREAS, A 1971 graduate of Temple University, Mackintosh received his Bachelor of Science Degree in English/Communications. He resides with his wife Barbara, and three children in Maple Glen, Pennsylvania and in his retirement will hopefully eat his favorite pizza, root for the Eagles, play plenty of golf and spend time in his favorite vacation spot of Avalon, New Jersey; now, therefore
