THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

Section 1. Subcode “P” of Title 4 of The Philadelphia Code is hereby amended as follows:

RULES AND DEFINITIONS

SECTION P-201.0 USE OF ABS AND PVC PLASTIC PIPING

P-201.1 Use Of ABS and PVC Plastic Piping. Notwithstanding any provision of this Code or the regulations adopted thereunder to the contrary, ABS and PVC plastic may be used for the following to the full extent permitted by the International Code Council International Plumbing Code:

1. Soil and waste piping for drainage systems within any building;

Water piping;

Rainwater conductors and storm drain piping;

Vent piping; and

Underground and exterior waste piping.

P-201.2 Installation Of ABS and PVC Plastic Piping. Notwithstanding any provision of this Code or the regulations adopted thereunder to the contrary, rules applicable specifically to the installation of ABS and/or PVC plastic piping shall not apply, except to the extent such rules are required by the International Code Council International Plumbing Code.
