Full Bill

WHEREAS,

The Council of the City of Philadelphia is pleased to recognize and honor Charles Isdell, Jr., on the occasion of his retirement following a distinguished career of 37 years service to the citizens of Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS,

Charles Isdell, Jr. has served as Director of Aviation since 2000; and

WHEREAS,

During his time as Director of Aviation, Philadelphia International Airport ranked highest in customer satisfaction for large airports in J.D. Power & Associates' 2008 North America Airport Satisfaction Study; and

WHEREAS,

Charles Isdell, Jr., oversaw a master plan for the construction of new international and commuter terminals, and the opening of a connector building between Terminals D and E; and

WHEREAS,

Charles Isdell, Jr., has worked at the airport since 1993, following a successful career with assignments as City purchasing agent, Acting Director of what is now the Greater Philadelphia Film Office, and as Manager of the City Representative's office; and

WHEREAS,

Charles Isdell, Jr. has served the public with energy, commitment and fidelity. He has earned high praise for his efforts and the esteem of both his peers and staff; now therefore

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,

That we recognize and honor Charles Isdell, Jr. on the occasion of his retirement after 37 years of outstanding service to the citizens of our region and the City of Philadelphia; and

FURTHER RESOLVED,

That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Charles Isdell, Jr. as evidence of the sincere sentiment of this legislative body.
