WHEREAS, Dental assistants, working with the dental profession, play an important part of maintaining the dental health of the citizens of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and of the United States; and
WHEREAS, Dental assistants, through their skills and knowledge, make dental care possible for increasing numbers of our citizens; and
WHEREAS, For over 80 years the American Dental Assistants Association has encouraged and made possible continuing education for dental assistants in order to enhance the delivery of dental health care to the public; and
WHEREAS, The American Dental Assistants Association and Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry has designated the week of March 1-7, 2009 as Dental Assistants Recognition Week in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and throughout the United States; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Council of the City of Philadelphia recognizes and applauds the work of the American Dental Assistants Association and proclaims the week of March 1st through 7th 2009 as Dental Assistants Recognition Week.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to American Dental Assistants Association of Philadelphia as a sincere expression of City Council's appreciation and gratitude.
