Honoring and recognizing Ye Olde History Tours for its efforts to promote the image of the City of Philadelphia.

WHEREAS

, Visitors to the Philadelphia region spend almost ten billion dollars per year and tourism generates over one billion dollars in federal, state and local taxes and employs over 88,000 people; and

WHEREAS,

Accurate, informational and quality tours of Philadelphia add to the visitor experience and leave lasting impressions of this great City; and

WHEREAS,

Ye Olde History Tours employs some of the best guides in the City, including those with degrees in History and has two certified teachers on staff; and

WHEREAS,

Ye Olde History Tours “digs for treasure” to find the truly fascinating and little known facts of American history and incorporates them in each tour; and

WHEREAS,

Ye Olde History Tours has sought to set an industry standard for enthusiastic, accurate and enjoyable tours; and

WHEREAS,

Ye Old History Tours is the only walking tour company owned and operated by its guides; and

WHEREAS,

In its inaugural year Ye Olde History Tours served over 1600 visitors from 28 states and 26 countries; now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA

, Honors and recognizes Ye Old History Tours for its continued efforts to promote the City of Philadelphia through its efforts to provide accurate and quality tours to visitors to this great City.

FURTHER RESOLVED,

That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Ye Olde History Tours as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
