Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Stenton Park Blue Bandits Soccer Team won the 2009 Inaugural Philadelphia Parking Authority/Department of Recreation Indoor-Soccer Championship; and

WHEREAS, This is the first year that the players of the Stenton Park Blue Bandits Soccer Team ever participated in the game of soccer; and

WHEREAS, The Stenton Park Blue Bandits Soccer Team is made up of 6th , 7th and 8th graders from the community and the team mates are members of the Stenton Park After School Program; and

WHEREAS, The Blue Bandits participated in the District Three Soccer League and achieved an unbelievable undefeated 9-0 record to win their league; and

WHEREAS, The Blue Bandits were victories in the City semifinals over the Dorothy Emmanuel Recreation Center by a score of 8-2; and

WHEREAS, The City Championship between the Stenton Park Blue Bandits and the heavily favored Towey Recreation Center was concluded with Stenton Park Blue Bandits clinching the championship with a 2 - 0 upset; and

WHEREAS, This is the first Championship that Stenton Park Playground has ever won.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council hereby authorizes, honors and recognizes the Stenton Park Blue Bandits Soccer Team for Capturing the 2009 Inaugural Philadelphia Parking Authority/Department of Recreation Indoor-Soccer Championship.
