Full Bill

WHEREAS, Kelly McGlynn has been an intern to Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr. since the Summer of 2009 and has been an invaluable addition to the office and the communities of the 4th District; and

WHEREAS, In November 2009, after successfully winning a three-way primary and run-off election, Kelly McGlynn was elected as the student body president representing 4,500 St. Joseph undergrads; and

WHEREAS, In 2007, Kelly McGlynn was elected Vice President of Student Affairs of the St. Joseph's University Student Senate. During her tenure she implemented many programs that enhanced the quality of student life; and

WHEREAS, Kelly McGlynn has consistently been an active presence in her community, organizing a National Community Day for the university and volunteering at Samuel Gompers Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, An avid history buff, Kelly brings her energy and enthusiasm to all the work she performs including as on-campus “Hawk Host Tour Guide”; now therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PHILADELPHIA, That it hereby recognizes and congratulates City Council intern Kelly McGlynn on her on election as President of the St. Joseph University Student Body.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Kelly McGlynn as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
