WHEREAS

, Laura Siena served as Executive Director of West Mt. Airy Neighbors (WMAN); and

WHEREAS

, West Mt. Airy Neighbors is a community-based volunteer organization committed to preserving and enhancing the quality of life in its richly diverse urban neighborhood; and

WHEREAS

, During Laura Siena's tenure as Executive Director, WMAN has double its budget and staff, established the Zoning Quality of Life and Streetscapes Committees, and completed a long-range strategic plan; and

WHEREAS

, Laura Siena served on West Mt. Airy Neighbors' Board for most of the period from 1989-2005; and

WHEREAS

, Laura Siena has dedicated many years to public service, before coming to Fund for an OPEN Society, she had a twenty-year career in fund raising management at hospitals, universities, medical schools and other not-for-profit organizations; and

WHEREAS

, Laura Siena served on many local not-for-profit boards, and is currently the treasurer of the Mt. Airy Community Services Corporation; and

WHEREAS

, Laura Siena is married with two children and a resident of West Mt. Airy.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA

, That City Council Hereby Recognize, Honor, And Celebrate Laura Morris Siena - On her retirement as Executive Director of West Mt. Airy Neighbors and her 20-years of dedication and commitment.

That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Laura Morris Siena as further evidencing the sincere admiration and gratitude of this legislative body.
