WHEREAS
, Mayor John F. Street appointed and Council confirmed Richard Negrin, Esq., as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve a four-year term to end November 16, 2010; and
WHEREAS
, Mr. Negrin has resigned his position on the Board of Ethics, creating a vacancy; and
WHEREAS
, Section 3-806(c) (Vacancies) of the Home Rule Charter provides that vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term of the member succeeded; and
WHEREAS
, Mayor Michael A. Nutter has nominated Sister Mary Scullion for appointment as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve in the unexpired portion of the vacant term; and
WHEREAS
, Section 3-806 of the Charter requires the advice and consent of a majority of all members of the Council for the appointment of members of the Board of Ethics;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,
That Council hereby consents to and confirms the appointment of Sister Mary Scullion as a member of the Board of Ethics, to serve in the term ending November 16, 2010.
