, The DeSean Jackson Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer provides information and assistance to pancreatic cancer patients and their families in order to improve the quality of life during a vulnerable time; and
WHEREAS
, The DeSean Jackson Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer will hold an inaugural gala honoring Dr. Craig B. Thompson, the Director of Penn Medicine, and Dr. Joseph Straton, Chief Medical Officer of Penn Wissahickon Hospice on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 6pm at the Weston Hotel; and
WHEREAS
, Dr. Craig B. Thompson and Dr. Joseph Straton have already made valuable contributions to the eradication of pancreatic cancer through extensive medical research and work with Stand Up To Cancer; and
WHEREAS,
DeSean Jackson should be commended for his creation of the foundation after his father's death of pancreatic cancer in 2009; now therefore
RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA
, Hereby recognizes, honors, and celebrates Dr. Craig B. Thompson and Dr. Joseph Straton for their admirable medical research with the DeSean Jackson Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer.
FURTHER RESOLVED
, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Dr. Craig B. Thompson and Dr. Joseph Straton as evidence of the sincere admiration of this legislative body.
