, The Redevelopment Authority and the Department of Public Property have the responsibility to work with the District Councilperson and Councilperson's-At-Large, to improve the City of Philadelphia; and
WHEREAS
, It is vitally important to have a clear, transparent process to accomplish these ends; and
WHEREAS
, The Redevelopment Authority and the Department of Public Property are involved in the acquisition and disposition of properties in our City; and
WHEREAS
, The Redevelopment Authority has the responsibility for condemnation in aid of redeveloping blighted neighborhoods in our City; and
WHEREAS
, There is much confusion with regard to the role of the Redevelopment Authority and the Department of Public Property to accomplish these goals; now therefore, be it,
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA,
That the Committee on Housing, Neighborhood Development and the Homeless Hold Public Hearings to Examine the Roles of the Redevelopment Authority and the Department of Public Property in Improving Housing in the City of Philadelphia.
