WHEREAS, The Delaware Expressway (I-95), a limited access highway, extends through the City of Philadelphia from the Philadelphia Delaware County Line to the Philadelphia Bucks County Line and is the region's primary northartery;
WHEREAS, The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has undertaken a project to reconstruct, rebuild, and improve the portion of the Expressway extending from the Vine Street Expressway (Ito the Philadelphia Bucks County Line.
WHEREAS, The work undertaken by the Commonwealth will widen and relocate portions of the Expressway and its right-of-way and reconfigure various interchanges and ramp connections and will also involve widening, relocating, revising, and eliminating various City streets and rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, It is desirable to revise the City Plan in order to conform with the lines and conditions established by the Commonwealth; NOW, THEREFORE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
Pursuant to Chapter 11-400 of The Philadelphia Code, the Board of Surveyors of the Department of Streets is hereby authorized to revise the lines and grades on portions of City Plan Nos. 55, 57, 146, 187, 188, 195, 196, 197, 258, 270, 271, 278, 282, 291, 292, 305, 306, 312, 321, 322, and 323 by:
Placing on the City Plan, striking from the City Plan, relocating, and revising portions of the Delaware Expressway, its right-of-way, interchanges, and ramp connections in order to conform with the lines established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Placing on the City Plan, striking from the City Plan, vacating, abandoning, relocating, and revising the lines and grades of intersecting and adjacent streets, roads, avenues, and rights-of-way affected thereby in order to conform with conditions established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
