Full Bill

WHEREAS, Mayor Michael A. Nutter appointed and Council confirmed (by operation of law pursuant to Section 3-806(c) of the Home Rule Charter), Kenya Mann Faulkner as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve a five-year term to end November 16, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Mann Faulkner has resigned her position on the Board of Ethics, creating a vacancy; and

WHEREAS, Section 3-806(c) (“Vacancies”) of the Home Rule Charter provides that vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term of the member succeeded; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Michael A. Nutter has nominated Sanjuanita Gonzalez for appointment as a member of the Philadelphia Board of Ethics, to serve in the unexpired portion of the vacant term; and

WHEREAS, Section 3-806 of the Charter requires the advice and consent of a majority of all members of the Council for the appointment of members of the Board of Ethics; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That Council hereby consents to and confirms the appointment of Sanjuanita Gonzalez as a member of the Board of Ethics, to serve in the term ending November 16, 2013.
