WHEREAS, The City and the Delaware River City Corporation have undertaken to develop the North Delaware Riverfront Trail;
WHEREAS, A portion of the trail will extend along the southwesterly side of Allegheny Avenue, from Richmond Street to Delaware Avenue, and along the southeasterly side of Delaware Avenue, from Allegheny Avenue to Lewis Street; and
WHEREAS, It is necessary to relocate the curblines and widen the footway areas along the portions of Allegheny Avenue and Delaware Avenue through which the trail will be constructed; now, therefore
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA HEREBY ORDAINS:
Pursuant to Section 11-404 of The Philadelphia Code, the Board of Surveyors of the Department of Streets is hereby authorized to revise the lines and grades on a portion of City Plan Nos. 196, 197, and 305 by:
Relocating the southwesterly curbline of Allegheny Avenue, from a point approximately twofeet southeast of Richmond Street to Delaware Avenue, ten feet northeastwardly, thereby increasing the width of the southwesterly footway area of the said portion of Allegheny Avenue from fifteen feet to twentyfeet.
Closing Allegheny Avenue, southeast of Delaware Avenue, to vehicular traffic by extending the southeasterly curbline of said Delaware Avenue
across the head of said Allegheny Avenue.
Relocating the southeasterly curbline of Delaware Avenue, from Allegheny Avenue to
a point approximately onetwofeet northeastwardly therefrom, twentyfeet northwestwardly, thereby increasing the width of the southeasterly footway area of the said portion of Delaware Avenue from nine feet to thirty feet.
Relocating the southeasterly curbline of Delaware Avenue, from a point approximately onetwofeet northeast of Allegheny Avenue to Castor Avenue, twentyfeet northwestwardly, thereby increasing the width of the southeasterly footway area of the said portion of Delaware Avenue from ten feet to thirtyfeet.
Relocating the southeasterly curbline of Delaware Avenue, from Castor Avenue to a point approximately onefourfortyfeet northeastwardly therefrom, twentytwo feet northwestwardly, thereby increasing the width of the southeasterly footway area of the said portion of Delaware Avenue from ten feet to thirtyfeet.
Relocating the southeasterly curbline of Delaware Avenue, from a point approximately onefourfortynine feet northeast of Castor Avenue to Lewis Street, twentyfeet northwestwardly, thereby increasing the width of the southeasterly footway area of the said portion of Delaware Avenue from seventyfeet to ninetyfeet.
