Full Bill

WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Philadelphia is honored to recognize the National Union of American Families for their dedicated mission in uplifting the American Family; and

WHEREAS, The NUAF was founded to strength families by serving as a conduit to all agencies and institutions that have an effect on the quality of family life; and

WHEREAS, NUAF'S mission is to establish economic, educational, and social opportunity and create political power for the American family through organization of communities and promotion of civic participation; and

WHEREAS, In the spirit of stewardship, NUAF seeks to foster friendships among families, develop team spirit for success, invite collective discussion for collective action, fight for right, act decisively, wisely and promptly and to discourage bickering and two-bit politics; and

WHEREAS, NUAF seeks to establish interdependent neighborhood unions of families working together at the community, state and local level to impact the political, social, educational, economic forces, and entities that affect our quality of life; and

WHEREAS, Often residents within a community adopt apathetic dispositions, as they are caught up and distracted by feelings of hopelessness; NUAF is striving to help change these attitudes into positive social change by strengthening parental involvement in the nation's schools and be enhancing many aspects of community and families; and

WHEREAS

It is fitting and proper that the City Council of the City of Philadelphia recognize those truly exemplary organizations and their individual members, who have given unselfishly of themselves, their time, and their talents to perpetuate the public good; and

WHEREAS, NUAF is one such exemplary organization that deserves praise and commendation for its many efforts in bringing about a positive change in today's society; and now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED,

That the Philadelphia City Council

Honors and Recognizes the National Union of American Families for their dedicated mission in uplifting the American Family and strengthening family and community ties.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented as a Sincere Expression of City Council's Appreciation and Recognition.
