Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia (hereinafter "Redevelopment Authority") is a public body and a body corporate and politic duly created and organized pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Redevelopment Law of May 24, 1945 of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and laws supplemental thereto; and

WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Authority was formed on October 2, 1945 under the name of the “Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia”; and

WHEREAS, The Redevelopment Authority desires to change its name to “Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority”; and

WHEREAS, The Board of the Redevelopment Authority has adopted a resolution authorizing the Redevelopment Authority to change its name as stated above and approving the filing of Articles of Amendment with the Pennsylvania Department of State and Department of Community and Economic Affairs.

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the board resolution, submitted by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia (hereinafter "Redevelopment Authority"), approving the filing of the Articles of Amendment to change the name of the Redevelopment Authority is hereby approved. City Council authorizes the Redevelopment Authority to change its name to “Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority.” City Council authorizes the Redevelopment Authority to proceed with minor changes in substantial conformity with the hereby approved Articles of Amendment. The Redevelopment Authority is authorized to execute and file the hereby approved Articles of Amendment with the Pennsylvania Department of State and Department of Community and Economic Affairs.
