Full Bill

WHEREAS, Through its network of offices across the United States and around the world, AJC responds to global challenges affecting the well-being of Jewish people and threatening democratic values worldwide; and

WHEREAS, AJC engages in effective legislative advocacy on the local, regional, and national levels to promote policies and legislation that support the well-being of Jewish people and promote democracy; and

WHEREAS, Through diplomatic meetings that utilize longstanding relationships with global decision-makers, AJC works to promote democratic values for all by establishing and maintaining important global alliances among diverse ethnic and religious groups; and

WHEREAS, With an unparalleled global media presence, AJC generates awareness and credibility and provides expert resources to promote the well-being of Jewish people and democratic principles; and

WHEREAS, When Jewish communities from Washington to Jerusalem, from Europe to Latin America turn to AJC for support, AJC responds to each challenge using its unparalleled access as the global Jewish advocate to achieve on-the-ground outcomes; and

WHEREAS, Through its multimedia communications program and global advocacy campaigns on issues ranging from energy security to Middle East policy, AJC reaches people throughout the world; now, therefore be it,

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors, recognizes and commends AJC for its global diplomacy and legislative advocacy for democratic values and the well-being of the Jewish people worldwide.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to AJC as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
