She also has been appointed to the Philadelphia Council for College and Career Success and Advisory Board of the Mayor's Office of Economic Opportunity and Ms. Coulter is a member of the Philadelphia African American Leadership Forum, Forum for a Better Pennsylvania, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority (Philadelphia Alumnae Chapter); and

WHEREAS, Ms. Coulter has received numerous honors and awards and was recognized by the

as a Minority Business Advocate and one of its “Women of Distinction” and by

Leadership Philadelphia

as one of the region's Top 100 Connectors. She was inducted into the Knoxville College Alumni Hall of Fame and was the recipient of the Southeastern PA American Red Cross Clara Barton Outstanding Humanitarian Award, Delta Sigma Theta Sadie T.M. Alexander Award, National Diversity Council Leadership Award, and KYW News Radio Women's Achievement Award; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Coulter was born in Newton, North Carolina and, as a child, was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Later, she received a Bachelors of Science Degree in Music from Knoxville College, a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Louisville, an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Pierce College, and completed the Harvard Business School's

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby honor Patricia A. Coulter for her achievements in service to the citizens of Philadelphia as President and CEO of the Urban League of Philadelphia.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Ms. Coulter as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
