Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School provides free public education for students in grades kindergarten through five (5); and

WHEREAS, The Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School's twenty-six (26) computers were outdated and unable to meet the technological needs of the Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School students; and

WHEREAS, The Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School could not fully implement the The School District of Philadelphia's technology curriculum without necessary upgrades to its computer lab; and

WHEREAS, The Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School lacked necessary funds to upgrade the computer lab; and

WHEREAS, The Mt. Airy Schools Coalition is the joint effort of Mt. Airy USA, East Mt. Airy Neighbors and West Mt. Airy Neighbors to ensure that Mt. Airy families have access to a high quality public education; and

WHEREAS, The Mt. Airy Schools Coalition partnered with the Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School to raise funds for the purchase of new computers for the Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School's computer lab; and

WHEREAS, The Mt. Airy Schools Coalition raised funds for the purchase of thirty-three (33) new computers which have been installed in the Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School's computer lab; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That the Council does hereby congratulate and honor the Mt. Airy Schools Coalition for upgrading the Eleanor C. Emlen Elementary School's computer lab.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to the Mt. Airy Schools Coalition as evidence of the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
