Honoring, recognizing and commending The Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA) for its devotion to providing the people of Philadelphia with quality medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and child development services.

WHEREAS, The Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA) is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and child development services; and

WHEREAS, Since 1970, GPHA has been a champion of compassionate and affordable healthcare for families throughout the Delaware Valley; and

WHEREAS, Since its founding, GPHA has grown to be one of the largest and most effective providers of primary healthcare in the area serving over 85,000 patients; and

WHEREAS, GPHA operates eight full-service health centers, six comprehensive dental locations, three full-service behavioral health centers and a child development academy in Philadelphia; and

WHEREAS, GPHA endeavors to address health disparities prevalent in medically underserved areas to provide comprehensive primary physical, behavioral, dental, family planning and pre-natal health care; and

WHEREAS, GPHA healthcare professionals are among the best in their field who are dedicated to improving the health of their Philadelphia patients and the community; and

WHEREAS, GPHA has a longstanding tradition of serving the residents of Philadelphia with passion and compassion; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, Hereby honors, recognizes and commends The Greater Philadelphia Health Action, Inc. (GPHA) for its devotion to providing the people of Philadelphia with quality medical, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy and child-development services.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to GPHA as evidence of the sincere admiration of the Council of Philadelphia.
