Honoring and congratulating The Constitution High School Boys Basketball Team, The Generals, on winning the 2015 PIAA A State Championship and The District 12 City Title for the AA Classification.

Full Bill

WHEREAS, The Generals, led by Head Coach Robert Moore, named AP Coach of the Year in Pennsylvania, finished with a record of 24-8; and

WHEREAS, The Varsity Basketball Program at Constitution High School was started only a mere 6 years ago and the team has advanced to the state playoffs every year of their existence, winning 138 games each in that period and winning three state championships over the last four years. They won 4 City Titles in 5 Years, and 1 Public League Championship in 2012; and

WHEREAS, The Generals defeated Farrell to win the State Championship by a score of 85-53 on March 20, 2015; and

WHEREAS, The Generals were led by Kimar Williams- Philadelphia Public League Player of the Year, 1st Team All Public League, 1st Team all State, 1st Team Daily News All City Selections. Ahmad Gilbert AP State Player of the Year, 1st Team All Public League, 1st Team All State, 2nd Team Daily News All City, 1st Team Inquirer All SE PA. Chad Andrews- 1st Team All Public League, 2nd Team All State; and

WHEREAS, Based on their past performance it is safe to assume that the Generals from Constitution High School Boys Basketball Team will only get better with time; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate The Constitution High School Boys Basketball Team on winning the 2015 PIAA State AA Championship and The District 12 A Championship.

FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to The Constitution High School Boys Basketball Team, further evidencing the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
