WHEREAS, The Neumann Goretti Boys Basketball Team led by Coach Carl Arrigale had an outstanding season finishing 29-2; and
WHEREAS, The team comprised of Lamarr Fresh Kimble and Quade Green were named 1st Team All Catholic and also 1st Team AAA All State Selections; Zane Martin named 2nd Team All Catholic as well as 2nd Team AAA State Selection; Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree named 2nd Team All Catholic and Vaughn Covington received an All Catholic Honorable Mention; and
WHEREAS, On February 27, 2015 the Saints with outstanding performances by Quade Green with 25 points, Zane Martin with 22 points and Lamarr Fresh Kimble with 17 points won the District 12 AAA City Title at Saint Joseph's University by besting Imhotep Charter 77-74 on a buzzer beater by Sophomore Quade Green; and
WHEREAS, On March 20, 2015 the Saints won the PIAA Division AAA State Championship Title at the Giant Center in Hershey by defeating Archbishop Carroll 69-67 again with a team effort led by Zane Martin with 26 points, Vaughn Covington with 17 points, Quade Green with 14 points and Lamarr Fresh Kimble with 10 points; and
WHEREAS, Seniors Lamarr Kimble and Jack Taylor will leave Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti with 3 AAA State Championships, four AAA City Titles and 3 Catholic League Championships and a 4-year record of 107-15; now, therefore
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA, That we hereby congratulate Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti 2014-2015 Boys Basketball Team on winning the District 12 Class AAA City Title, and the PIAA Division AAA State Championship.
FURTHER RESOLVED, That an Engrossed copy of this resolution be presented to Saints John Neumann and Maria Goretti 2014-2015 Boys Basketball Team, further evidencing the sincere sentiments of this legislative body.
